As you will be aware we would normally have held our annual prize giving ceremony in June 2021. This was not possible due to COVID and the resultant lockdown. We decided to do a shorter ceremony on Friday 1 October. We could not have any parents / carers in attendance due to Scottish Government guidelines. We could not have all the pupils there due to Scottish Government guidelines on mass gatherings so we have had to make compromises. The prizewinners were invited down in year groups and presented with their prize.  Above are some photographs taken on the day. You can see the list of prizewinners in the programme in the Related Media link below.

Lenzie Academy Prizegiving takes place in June each year.

Awards are presented to pupils in S1 - S6.  In S1 and S2 only those who achieve First or Second in their guidance group as a total over all of their subjects are presented with a WH Smith gift voucher and where pupils have just missed out on this they are presented with a Certificate, a fantastic achievement for our young people.

Pupils in S3 - S6 who achieved highly in their class subject are presented with a WH Smith gift voucher. There are a few subject prizes that also include a trophy.

We have a number of Special Awards in the form of trophies donated by former pupils, family of former pupils, former staff, former parent council, local clubs and societies.  Pupils are nominated by various departments to be put forward for these awards. The name of the prizewinner is engraved on the trophy over the summer break and pupils can, if they wish, collect the trophy to take home until the end of March the following year when we start preparations for the next prizegiving ceremony.

Vice Captain's and School Captain's are awarded for their contribution to the school.
