Each session Lenzie Academy takes part in East Dunbartonshire’s Senior Partnership Programme.
The purpose of our Senior Phase Partnership Programme is to help students develop knowledge and skills which will prepare them for the future job market, college or university. East Dunbartonshire’s Senior Phase Partnership Programme offers students a wide range of options which are accredited by the SQA or other professional bodies and provide students with skills, knowledge and experience specific to the industry sector it represents.
The courses are run in conjunction with the colleges within the greater Glasgow area and Caledonian University, allowing the pupils of Lenzie Academy access to courses and facilities we are unable to offer in school. Some examples of courses on offer include: Applied Anatomy, Early Education & Childcare, Creative Digital Media, Professional Theatre, Fashion Brand Retailing, Scots & Criminal Law, Building Services Engineering, Construction and Beauty & Make Up Artistry.
Foundation Apprenticeships run for 2 academic years. Most other courses run for one academic year and delivered over 2 school afternoons (usually Tuesday and Thursday), although the NC/HNC courses will vary and will require more commitment. In some cases, transport is provided to college, otherwise students are expected to make their own way using their National Entitlement Card.
